“The GC-120Q and AdVantisX platforms were both well-received by manufacturers in the Asia Pacific region following their launch. Universal Instruments now becomes an expert solutions provider offering a full range of services and solutions, from mid-range, hi-speed, to flexible fine pitch.”
In announcing GC-120Q as award recipient on 30 Dec, 2008, China Electronics News said, “GC-120Q is a quad-gantry model. Configured with four Lightning heads, GC-120Q has an unrivalled maximum throughput of 120,000 components per hour across a much broader component range, from 01005 to 30 mm square components. The platform also features various tools to ensure high accuracy.”
In recommending AdVantisX platform, editor of China Electronics News noted, “AdVantisX targets the mid-tier market but employs leading technologies. It is especially designed for ‘high mix, medium volume’ production environment and was very well-received in 2008.”
In addition to the excellent performance of the equipments, Universal Instruments’ outstanding customer support also plays an important role. Universal Instruments has an experienced team of applied engineers who can help customers install the machines and provide training to staff. It also offers a round-the-clock multi-language hotline service by duty engineers who can provide immediate solutions to customers.
The Advanced Process Laboratory in Shanghai offers failure analysis, product prototyping and process support services to help manufacturers solve any problems. In addition, free seminars are being held in the laboratory from time to time to promote SMT technologies.
China Electronics News conducted an annual industry review to assess the performance of different players in certain sectors of the electronics industry every year. Awards will then be determined by a judging panel formed by industry experts and editors of authoritative media and presented to outstanding performers.
Last year, China Electronics News chose to review IT, communications, basic electronics and consumer electronics.
The entire judging process lasted for two months. Based on a report compiled by editors of China Electronics News providing a full assessment on the specifications, functions, innovations, feasibility, and market share of nominated products, the judging panel would then discuss and vote for the best player.
